I love posts like this- i'm going to try and come up with some more posts for the days of the week; but if i don't i will find some from other blogs (which is totally allowed because i'm not taking credit) as i find myself stuck for quick and useful post ideas.
I thought i would kick off this series with drugstore foundation.
I have tried a lot of drugstore foundation and some are definitely better than others. Foundations is one of the most pricey things in the drugstore (along with mascaras) so i thought it would be good for me to tell you the my favourites and try and save you from trying any disappointing ones.
My skin type is oily but i have included a few products that will be suitable for people with dryer skin so that i could give a wider view on drugstore foundations.
Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation:
(Oily Skin)
If you prefer more liquidy foundations then this one isn't for you and it can be quite drying so it's great for people with really oily skin. This foundation promises to improve the look of your skin whilst you're wearing it and I have found that it does improve the look of my skin after just afew weeks.
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation:
(Normal to Dry skin) I love the finish of this foundation, the amount of coverage it gives and how healthy and awake it makes my skin look; if it was suitable for my skin type i'd wear it everyday. I'm very jealous that people with normal to dryer skin get this foundation for their makeup bags.
Garnier BB Cream:
(Normal to oily skin) I hated the original version of this bb cream, however when they came out with this version i was eager to try it out. The formula is very liquidy which makes it blend beautifully into the skin.
The target audience is people with oily skin but honestly i think that it would look amazing on anyone.
Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation:
(Normal to oily skin) This foundation makes my skin look so healthy its unbelievable. I prefer the finish when i blend it in with fingers; it looks so natural but perfects everything.
Some people complain that there's no pump but that doesn't really bother me and the product is so amazing that it's an easy issue to get over.
Revlon Colorstay Foundation:
(Oily skin) An old favourite but a favourite none the less. Everyone was obsessed when this first came out but some people find it too heavy. I think this product is amazing; you need the smallest amount and i blend it in with the elf small tapered brush and the finish is very matte but very natural. It also very comparable to the Estee Lauder Double wear foundation which is my favourite high end foundation.
Thanks for reading.

I agree with your viewpoints on all of these foundations, I also love the Rimmel wake-me-up but itn melts from my face very quickly. I also find it has glitter particles in it (small issue but annoys me a little!) http://jolie-louise.com/blog
ReplyDeleteSome people like the glitter in it for a dewy glow; but for my oily skin it only makes me look even shinier. Thanks for your comment. F x
